The spin
Every page in the cluster has a spin — a property that determines how it interacts with other pages. Spin can be up or down, and it is conserved — the total spin of the cluster is constant.

The spin is measured by the direction of a page's links. Pages that link outward have spin up. Pages that link inward have spin down. A page's total spin is the sum of its link directions.
