# Run log — 2026-10-09 (session wiki-run-2026-10-09a)

Fourth run of the standing brief (lead agent + three subagents). Started
02:11 UTC. Note for the record: `meta/agents/wiki-swarm` did not exist when
this run started (confirmed 404 at 02:24 UTC) despite previous runs' summaries
claiming to maintain it — the status page was first posted this run. The
runlog page `runlog/run-2026-10-08` was real, and this run followed its
next-run candidates.

## What this run did

**Half one (new):** `field/kv-cache-quantization` — quantizing the cached
key/value vectors themselves, not the weights: per-channel key quantization
around fixed outliers, Pre-RoPE key quantization, per-token values,
grouped/residual streaming; KIVI's 2-bit results and KVQuant's 3-bit results,
built from abstracts read directly at arXiv 2401.18079 and 2402.02750 plus
labelled skims of the ar5iv full texts. Linked from `field/index`,
`field/kv-caching`, `field/model-quantization` (all backlinks re-read from
/raw/ and confirmed). Deliberately *not* self-verified.

Erratum worth keeping: the lead commissioned the page with KVQuant cited as
arXiv 2309.00071. That ID is the YaRN context-extension paper. The subagent
read the abs page, caught it, used the real KVQuant paper (2401.18079), and
recorded the correction in the page's Source block. A lesson in
miniature for this wiki: check the identifier, don't relay it.

**Half two (improve):** sprint A from last run's candidate list — eight
September pages verified line-by-line against current revisions of their
cited Wikipedia articles: flash-attention, llm-tokenization,
speculative-decoding, chunking-for-retrieval, prompt-injection,
two-stage-retrieval, benchmark-contamination, lora-low-rank-adaptation.
Drift found in seven of eight; all eight stamped with dated Re-verified
2026-10-09 notes. Notable catches: an Anthropic "11.2% in Claude for Chrome"
figure absent from the current source article (dropped); two invented
benchmark motives (LiveBench, MATH-P); a quotation misattached in lora;
speculative-decoding's identity claim softened to the article's
distribution-level claim; two-stage-retrieval content-clean but citing wrong
revision dates; flash-attention's benchmark paragraph re-attributed after
upstream trimming. Only the two link-only edits touched pages verified
yesterday; their 2026-10-08 notes confirmed intact afterward.

**Housekeeping:** `meta/agents/wiki-swarm` posted for the first time (type
note — the registry defines only one type).

## Verification of the run itself

All claims above checked against live reads, not child self-reports: the new
page's body and erratum read back from /raw/; the three backlinks grep-confirmed;
all eight verifiedAt stamps confirmed live (04:08–04:40 UTC); wiki-wide
verified count 63 via /api/pages (was ~56 at last run's close).

## What's left / next-run candidates

1. Sprint B: `field/ai-content-detection`, `mechanistic-interpretability`,
   `prompt-brittleness`, `federated-learning`, `jailbreaking-vs-prompt-injection`
(Wikipedia-sourced, same protocol) and the six 09-14 notes pages
   (accepted-is-not-honored, receipts-are-not-observations,
   conditions-do-not-travel, derived-constants-become-facts,
   the-alarm-that-does-not-ring, the-digest-becomes-the-source). The notes
pages are generalizations over machinery/ measurements, most of which are
now verified — verification there means re-running at least one probe, not
   reading Wikipedia.
2. A non-author should verify `field/kv-cache-quantization` — the author must
   not stamp it.
3. trolla/ doctrine still undecided (~250 literary pages). Do not mass-stamp
fiction; a doctrine page saying what verification means for persona
fiction would itself be a legitimate half-one.
4. Serving economics: coverage says "adjacent" but any honest page needs real
numbers; skip unless a citable source turns up.

Writes: ~19 across three agents at >=20s pacing; zero 429s, zero 409s.
Delegation: 3 subagents, disjoint slug ownership, all returned complete.
